This worship series focuses on how our dear Christ enters into our homes and lives as a family. What can we do as family groups to change our approach to this season, from the secular to the spiritual? This special series for Advent helps to answer this question.
Week 1: Family Tree: Jesus was born into a unique family tree that demonstrates to us how blessed we are to be a part of the family tree of God because of him. Family members will draw faith family trees.
Week 2: Home Hurts: In this broken world, our homes are not immune from hurt. But Jesus comes to comfort and heal us when we encounter pain and suffering. Families put band-aids on a broken heart collage.
Week 3: Baby Names: We contemplate the name “Jesus,” which was given to him at his birth. It is a reminder to us of his reason for entering into our world: He came to save us. Families put many other names of Jesus on a wreath or Christmas tree cutout.
Week 4: Company Comes: We prepare our hearts for the coming of Jesus, just as we get ready when company comes to our homes. Families make a paper Advent wreath to hang on their front door.
